Four kilometers off the coast of Peru, near Port San Martin, are a group of
small, rocky islands that are one of the richest and most diverse wildlife sanctuaries
in South America. Living on these islands you can see huge colonies of sea lions,
families of endangered Humboldt penguins, beautiful cormorants, blue-footed
boobies, and huge flocks of seabirds.
During your two hour boat tour - which is spent entirely onboard a safe, modern
speedboat, you will observe these animals from up close. Watch the sea lions
playing in the water or sunning themselves on the rocks. Take photos of the
penguins as they feed their babies. And if you are very lucky, you may see a dolphin
or a whale, too!
Obviously this tour is great for people who enjoy birding and seeing wildlife,
and during the tour you can also observe a huge, mysterious symbol carved into
the cliff centuries ago. This symbol is called “The Candelabra” because it resembles
a candle-holder, and we do not know who created it or why...

BNAZCA LINES FLIGHT
After the mysterious ruins at Machu Picchu, the Nazca Lines are considered the
greatesty ancient mystery in South America. In the Atacama Desert, near the
modern-day town of Nazca, we can observe gigantic figures that were drawn
in the sand.
Created between 400 and 650 AD, these figures are in the shape of animals like
hummingbirds, dogs, whales, birds, and there are also human figures as well. We
know that they were created by the ancient Nazcan civilization, but what remains
a mystery is how they were created or why. The best way to see these Nazca
Lines is to fly over them in a light aircraft, such as the Cessna Grand Caravan
12-passenger planes found in Pisco, near San Martin Port.
Some people have speculated that the Nazca Lines were made by aliens arriving
on a UFO,but most scientists believe that they were created by humans and
probably had a ritual or religious purpose. During this 90 minute flight,
you will see 12 of the world-famous Nazca Lines, and you are guaranteed a seat
with a window.

TOUR
CEXPLORE THE GIGANTIC SAND DUNES OF THE DESERT
One hour south of Pisco’s San Martin Port, is a bone-dry desert with gigantic sand
dunes, similar to those in the Sahara Desert. At the start of the tour, we’ll transport
you to Huacachina, a lagoon surrounded by palm trees, in the middle of the desert.
Here, you will climb into a 4-wheel-drive dune buggy and a professional driver will drive up and down the
gigantic sand dunes, stopping occasionally to take photos of the amazing scenery.
You can choose between a slow and relaxing dune buggy ride or a fast “rollercoaster
in the desert” type of ride. This tour is one of the most popular adventure tours
in South America - we promise you will love it.
You are guaranteed see extraordinary beautiful and desolate sand dunes, and take
some photos that you can put on Facebook to make your friends and family jealous.
And if you are brave, you can try sandboarding! This sport involves “snowboarding”
down the sand dunes on a board. Less athletic people and children can go
sand-sledding which is truly a blast. Some of our clients rave that this was their
favorite excursion on their entire cruise!

TOUR
DTAMBO COLORADO
Near the coastal town of Pisco, not far from the San Martin Port, is an ancient
archaeological site known as Tambo Colorado. It is believed that these adobe
ruins were built around the end of the 15th century by the Incan king Pachacuti
Inca Yupanqui, who is perhaps better known as Pachacutec.
The site is also known as the Red Resting Place (Puka Tampu in Quechua) because
the dryness of the desert has preserved the red dye that was used to paint the
walls.
During this 4-hour tour, we will transport you from Port San Martin to the ruins
of Tambo Colorado, approximately one hour away. There, a professional english-
speaking tour guide will provide a guided tour of the ruins, explaining their history
and providing details about the Incan empire which stretched from the jungle to
the mountains to the coast.
While not as dramatic as Machu Picchu, this tour is an interesting half-day tour
to an important ruin on the coast of Peru.
INCLUDED IN THE TOUR:
+ Pickup at your cruise ship in San Martin Port
+ Transfer to Tambo Colorado
+ One hour tour at the ruins
+ Smoke-free, air-conditioned transport
+ English-speaking guide
+ Transfer back to San Martin Port

government to protects the fragile and beautiful landscapes of the Peruvian coast.

touch fossil sea shells that are over 100 million years old.
There are few animals in the reserve, so the main attraction here is the scenery.

photography.
During this 2 hour tour, you will visit many beaches, and numerous other
landscapes of interest such as desolate coastal dunes, and a beautiful stone spire
known as the Cathedral.

seafood restaurant, where the fish is so fresh that it was alive in the sea that
same day. Lunch is not included in the cost of the tour.
An english-speaking guide will accompany you on this tour, providing fascinating
information about the geological and human history of the national reserve. And
we may also stop off at a museum nearby
